  1. Boxing is fighting with gloved fists, 
  2. almost entirely a male sport. The sport
  3. dates from the 18th century, when fights
  4. were fought with bare knuckles and untimed
  5. rounds. Each round ended with a knockdown.
  6. Fighting with gloves became the accepted 
  7. form in the latter part of the 19th century.
  8. Competitions take place in a roped ring 
  9. that measure 4.3-6.1m (14-20ft) square. 
  10. All rounds last three minutes, with amateur
  11. bouts lasting three rounds, and professional
  12. championship bouts lasting 12. Boxers are
  13. classified according to weight and may not
  14. fight in a division lighter than their own.
